~ さえ ~ ば

This pattern can be used to describe about the possibility of something, if (at least, only, just etc) having or doing something.

例 ー

1.一人暮らしでもコンピューターさえあれば寂しくありません。
       (hitorigurashi demo conpyuutaa sae areba sabishiku arimasen)
       (though living alone, it is not lonely even if you have a computer)


2.海外旅行に行くとき忘れ物をしても、パスポートさえあれば大丈夫です。
       (kaigai ryokou ni iku toki wasuremono wo shitemo, pasupooto sae areba daijoubu desu)
       (when you visit overseas, it is safe, at least if you have the passport, though you forget any other thing)


3.A : これ、誰にでも簡単に使えますか。
        (kore, dare ni demo kantan ni tsukaemasuka)
        (can anyone use this easily)
       B : ええ、ここに書いてある説明さえ読めば、誰にでも簡単に使えます。
   (ee, koko ni kaite aru setsumei sae yomeba, dare ni demo kantan ni tsukaemasu)
        (yes, anyone can use this easily, even reading the description written here )


4.深刻な病気ではありません。休みさえすれば、あなたは元気になるでしょう。
       (shinkoku na byouki dewa arimasen. yasumi sae sureba, anata wa genkini naru deshou)
       (It is no a serious illness. even if you take a break, you will get well)


5.目さえ見れば、彼は何を考えているのかわかります。
       (me sae mireba, kare wa nani wo kangaete iru no ka wakarimasu)
       (you can understand what he is thinking by only looking at his eyes )
