とても ～ ない

This can be used to express the sense of impossibility of something strongly.

例　－


1．忙しくて、そのパーティーにはとても行けない。
       (isogashikute, sono paatii ni wa totemo ikenai)
       (I can not possibly go to the party, because I`m busy)


2．歯が痛くて御飯はとても食べられなかった。
       (ha ga itakute gohan wa totemo taberarenakatta)


3．ラーメン五杯もとても一人では食べられない。
       (raamen gohai mo totemo hitoride wa taberarenai)


4．恥ずかしくて、口ではとても言えないので、手紙を書いた。
       (hazukashikute, kuchi de wa totemo ienai node, tegami o kaita)


5．この箱は重いから、とても一人では運べない。
       (kono hako wa omoi kara, totemo hitoride wa hakobenai)


6．四十万円の時計など、とても買えない。
       (yonjuu man en no tokei nado, totemo kaenai)
